Repair & Storage Liens

Do you operate a business that tows, stores, and/or repairs motor vehicles?

If so, you probably face situations where customers or their insurance companies have refused to pay for your services.  If you are still in possession of the vehicle, you may be in a position to exercise your rights to a possessory lien, in accordance with the Repair and Storage Liens Act ("RSLA").  The Small Claims Court has jurisdiction over RSLA claims for amounts of $35,000 or less.  Additionally, you may be able to seek restitution under the law of contract, or by asserting a claim for unjust enrichment.

The team at Gobin & Leyenson LLP has decades of combined experience in representing businesses in relation to claims for storage, towing and/or repairs. Contact us for a complimentary consultation.
